New for 2009
Location
We have exchanged the showground and the vehicle parks, so the Moreton-in-Marsh Show will now be based a few hundred yards further up Batsford Road; that will give the Moreton-in-Marsh Show more space and less overhead cables but the same traditional feel.
The change of location will mean that the layout will vary from previous years, a downloadable plan will be available on this website prior to the show.
The showground move has enabled us to enhance the layout of the show - please take a look at the plan and see the positive changes we have made. Please also pay particular attention to road signage when approaching Moreton-in-Marsh for this years Show.
There are new parking arrangements and places to enter the ground for Trade and Horse exhibitors.
Credit/Debit card Machines will be available on the gates for the first time.
The Countryside & Heritage Area
We are delighted that 2009 will see the launch of the new Countryside & Heritage Area (sponsored by Butler Sherborn). The Countryside & Heritage Area will offer an enjoyable learning experience where visitors to the Moreton-in-Marsh Show will learn more about what really goes on on farms and the surrounding countryside.
The Countryside & Heritage Area will feature a grain chain where visitors can follow wheat through to bread, barley through to beer, and oilseed rape through to cooking oil. There will also be a livestock chain with sheep and pigs, and of course visitors will have the chance to ask questions.
The exciting Land Rover experience will give the opportunity for the public to be taken on an off road track and shown what a Land Rover really can do! Local crafts such as dry stone walling will also be demonstrated. The Royal Agricultral College will be attending as they offer dry stone walling and hedge laying courses.
A digger driver competition will also be held at the Moreton-in-Marsh Show for the first time.
The Kangaroo Kid
The main attraction at this year’s Moreton-in-Marsh Show is the extremely popular motorcycle stuntman The Kangaroo Kid
Jive Pony are making their first appearance at the Moreton-in-Marsh Show. Based locally the act consists of two highly trained free working vaulting horses performing simultaneously - they have gained much acclaim and we are pleased to welcome them.
