Youngsters Aim for Early Success in Gardening Game - 04.04.2017
Youngsters planning to enter the Home and Garden classes at this summer’s Moreton Show can learn from the experts at Fosseway Garden Centre on Easter Monday. Gill Godwin, co-owner of the Garden Centre and children’s head steward in the Home and Garden Marquee at Moreton Show is running a masterclass in creating exhibits to impress the judges. It’s all called Moreton Show – Have a Go, a series of workshops designed to help even the unlikeliest gardener create something that could be entered for Moreton Show on September 2. Bluebell Run Beckons for Farming’s Finest
The finest farming machinery will turn out on Sunday, May 7 for The Bluebell Run, the annual tractor run through the north Cotswolds.   Organised by Moreton Show in conjunction with the North Cotswold Tractor Club, this year’s tractor run will cover a 42-mile route from Moreton in Marsh to Andoversford and back. It all starts with registration from 9.30am at Downs Farm, on the Batsford Estate, courtesy of Bruce and David Minett. Green-fingered experts are coming together to help amateur gardeners grow something special for the Home and Garden section at this summer’s Moreton Show on September 2. Leading the way will be Chris Small, from Stow on the Wold, a prominent local grower and judge, who will be passing on his expertise between 11am and 3pm on Easter Monday at the Fosseway Garden Centre in Moreton in Marsh. Chris is chairman of the Stow on the Wold Allotments Association and is team leader of the vegetable section at Moreton Show. A Cotswolds farmer who has worked for Princess Anne and whose sheep received the Royal seal of approval from Prince Charles, is the new chairman of Moreton Show. Steve Parkes, 67, from Stow-on-the-Wold, has worked in farming and agriculture for more than half a century and is one of the country’s leading breeders of the rare ‘Cotswold Lion’ - the Cotswold sheep famed for its ‘golden fleece’. Super Sub Lucy joins the Moreton Show Team - 15.02.2017
Moreton Show has ‘super sub’ Lucy Mellor as secretary for this year’s show on Saturday, September 2nd.   Lucy has taken on the secretary’s job for a year while show secretary, Sarah Taylor looks after her new baby son, Ted, who was born in January.   Lucy, who studied at Harper Adams University in Shropshire, has a wide experience of working in the agriculture, food and events industries.   She’s done everything from overseeing celery packing and sourcing salad from Kenya, to setting up the Asparagus Festival in Evesham and helping to run the Royal Show, the Royal Festival of..

Delightful Dogs! - 2016

BBC Radio Gloucestershire’s breakfast show presenter, Mark Cummings will be the star judge at this year’s Moreton Show Dog Show on Saturday, September 3rd.

Moreton Show’s Dog Show is always one of the most popular attractions and for 2016 the canine ring includes dog obedience displays by the Good Dog Ownership School, a scent demo by Paw Behaviour, a gun dog display by Crendon Canines and a ‘Have A Go Rally’ where owners and dogs can put their pooches through their paces, testing how well they behave.

Farming Gets Up Close and Personal for Banbury Schoolchildren

Pupils at Hanwell Fields Community School in Banbury had some new playmates when three piglets, three lambs and three chickens took up temporary residence on the playing field.

Potato in a Pot

Children are being asked to ‘pop a potato in a pot’ for the Moreton Show judges who are on the look out for super spuds.

The ever popular ‘Potato in a Pot’ competition aims to encourage youngsters to grow their own vegetables.
